HI EVERYONE! IVE BEEN COMING TO THIS SITE FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW TO READ ABOUT ALL THE KNOWLEDGE YOU GUYS HAVE ABOUT KNIVES BUT IVE BEEN A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT JOINING THE FORUM DUE TO MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. I OWN 3 SPYDERCOS;A DELICA,AN ENDURA AND AN OLDER MODEL RESCUE. MY QUESTION IS WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD HARD WORK KNIFE? I AM A COMMERCIAL ELECTRICIAN AND IVE REALLY BEAT THE HECK OUT OF EVERY FOLDER IVE OWNED. HELP PLEASE.

Howdy Sparky! Welcome to <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Land! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
First off, turn off the Caps if you would be so kind. It's like screaming and is quite uncomfortable to read. Thanks. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Second, I would recommend the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Rench as a decent overall tool. It has a fair-sized set of pliers and wrench, in addition to the full-sized blade most multitools lack.
By the time you read this, you'll have already read it.

Frankly as an Electrician you have the best hard use knife in the Rescue Model.... just go buy a sharpmaker so you can keep it sharp as it should be. the delica is a good companion to it for any fine tip work like splitting wires.
But if you want to spend the money you would be hard pressed to do better then a Military 50/50 blade. (but buy the sharpmaker first either way to keep your knives singing sharp)

Thanks for the input guys.Sorry about all the caps. As far as the rescue goes I find the blade length a little long for electrical work but I definately agree that the delica is perfect for precision work. The only thing is the tip on the delica seems like it wont hold up over time. As far as the spyderwrench, Ive never seen one or handled one in person, but the idea sounds promising. Thanks.

I would think the new plainedge Dodo would be a good choice for an electrician's everyday tasks. It seems very stout with the G10 handle and the blade seems very capable of stipping wire or separating Romex or even cutting an outlet box hole in drywall.
Another personal fav for stout and rugged is the G10 Harpy(now discontinued)

I don't think you could do any better than a PE Standard, they are hard to find so a second choise would be a SE Native. With its 1/2 inch of PE tip and rest SE it would do anything you ask of it.
I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

Of all my Spydies,I keep coming back to my CE Native the most for EDC. You mentioned the Rescue was to long;have you checked out the Rescue Jr/79mm?
