I need some help from you guys!

I'm looking into buying a spydie knife, but I don't know what kind to get!

i worked on a fishing boat in alaska last summer and almost got pulled overboard in the net

i'd like something with a blade that will open quickly,cut through net very easily, something that's not too big but doesn't feel wimpy when i'm holding it

i'd also carry it 'just in case' and to use for this and that

i also have a chance to buy a wegner 'large superior hunting knife' for $65

is that too large of a knife?

i'm kind of broke but i need suggestions

Something that will cut thru net very easily and open quickly? How about a fully serrated Delica? Or if you need a blunt-tipped knife for working around the boat, the Rescue Jr. should work perfectly.

I believe the blade on the Harpy/Merlin was made just for cutting netting in a marine/fishing setting. The Wegner is, in my opinion, an excellent knife in the plain edge form. I don't think it is too large, but then again, I like large knives.

The fully serrated Delica, or the Endura would also be an excellent choice here. The Endura will give a bit more cutting ability, but it's larger, so that's the trade off.
