Am I correct? This should be usuable on the Shabaria and other recurve blades too, with similar performance results?

Hi,

I use that process with all my recurved blades, and the results are always outstanding. Spyderco generally has better edges to start with than Benchmade does, so the resulting performance improvement won't be quite as drastic.

The one thing that's changed is that I've gone to an even thinner edge. I still start with the 15-degree slots, but instead of just coming to within 1/32" of the very edge, I use the magic marker and go all the way until it's gone (but before a burr has formed). I form and grind off the burr at 20 degrees, typically. You'd get even better performance if you created the burr at 15 degrees, but given my uses even what I"m doing now is pushing things.
