View Full Version : Fav handle: shape and mat'l
The title pretty much sums it up. Are you a fancy handle(jigged bone, mother of pearl...) or a basic handle(G-10, FRN...) person.
Also what is your favourite handle on a Sydie.
Here are my picks: Most fav handle would be the Dodo; and most fav mat'l would be G-10.
I guess that is why the Dodo is one of my all time fav Spydies! Take Care!!!!

I really like the Navigator pattern for starters, but just imagine how nice it would look with either a carbon fiber handle or the blue G10 that is used on the Dodo.

I agree on the Nav. Just feels best to me, and I hardly know where my hand ends and the knife begins.
As far as CF goes, if memory serves me, there is a CF Nav on the inside front page of the Spyderco Story bible. If I'm right, there's at least one...

I love "natural" materials, jigged bone, stag, and wood are at the top of my list. My JB Kiwi is my workday EDC knife. On the weekends, it's either my FRN Native, or FRN Calypso in my pocket. Like both those handles a lot, the Native even more since I modified it a bit to expose the entire hole.
My "dream" spydies would be a stainless steel Native and Calypso, both in PE, with jigged bone scales either like the C27 Horn and 25th Annivesary Delica, set up for tip down carry.

My fav handle shape is on the Millie, while my favorite handle material, G10, is on this <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> as well.

My ideal <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> would be essentially a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>Sodbuster. Canoe handle in jigged bone/stag, D2/1095/VG10 skinner blade. <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Love my dragonfly, the handle just works with it...
I love natural materials such as jigged bone, stag, and wood... but stainless works.

Blade shape would be that of a military.
Scale would be the micarta like that is used on Busses.
I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

Looks like I'm the only one who likes FRN <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
As about the blade, Military's in S30V <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

This one, and G-10 ties with macarta for my favorite handle material on a tactical folder. RKBA!
