Hi All,
This is my first post, so let me know if I do anything wrong. Anyone know how long it takes to get a Spydi back from Warrantee and Repair for a free sharpening? I took my Police G-10 with SpyderEdge in to the Spyderco dealer in my area to get sharpened. I was told sending it in to the factory would produce a sharper edge than what my dealer could do. It has been about a month now and I am starting to miss my knife…= >
Thanks in advance

Hi winklehawk
A month is probably a bit long.
Contact Mike Hayes in the Spyderco Warranty and Repair department. Mike is at Spyderco Monday- Friday 8-5MST. You can reach him directly at
800-525-7770 X255
-or-
303-279-8383 X255

It's probably worthwhile for you to buy a Spyderco Sharpmaker, watch the video that comes with it, and learn to sharpen your knives yourself - it avoids you missing your knife when it's away.

I second that.
A month is too long, IMO. Whenever I send a Spydie back, for sharpening, etc., it usually only takes about a week and a half or so, to get it back.
Contact Mike, he'll take care of ya'. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Winklehawk,
Welcome to the Spyderco forum!
Definitely call Mike Hayes. Also, if you dropped your knives off with a dealer to be sent back here, it might be worth calling them and confirming they sent them to us or have not already received them back.
Our W&R shop is super busy right now (hunting season) and it is certainly possible we have them in line. We'll get an answer for you.

I'd definitely check with your dealer first. It could easily have slipped their minds, or gotten pushed under a pile o paper.

Buy a 204, very useful... a block of veritas green and a spare shoelace will get the edge hair poppin, even with serrations.
