hey guys.

i have a spyderco police and it doesnt have a tip. i mean i can press it as hard as i want and not worry about getting cut. so if any of you know any good sharping techniques they would be appricated as i dont yet have a sharp-maker.

I've had throwing knives with this problem. What do you expect with a cement wall behind your target?

Get a rough metal file and shape the tip to what you want. This takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes depending on the steel. Then use a progression of stones to smooth it out.
I use 450, 800, 1000, and spyderco Ultra Fine.

We all start with 10 fingers. Those with Spydies have 9 to spare, Still need a thumb. Good thing I still have 8 to spare...

While the Sharpmaker is great for most sharpenings, I use a Lansky to get the angle that I'm looking for. Just work on the tip until its close, and then work it to the full length of the blade. Then it's a simple task to keep the complete edge sharp with the Sharpmaker.
