The blade of this elite knife is crafted from CPM® M4, a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. CPM M4's sophisticated alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. Taking full advantage of these qualities, the PlainEdge™ blade of this knife features a full-flat grind for optimal cutting performance and point utility.

The original Manix 2 Lightweight pioneered the use of ultra-lightweight FRCP (fiberglass reinforced co-polymer) in its injection-molded handle. This Blade HQ Exclusive version features a distinctive mint-green-colored FRCP handle with Spyderco’s high-traction Bi-Directional Texturing™ pattern for a secure grip in even the most demanding conditions. The handle houses Spyderco's patented Ball Bearing Lock™—a high-strength lock mechanism that offers ambidextrous operation and an exceptionally smooth action. To ensure convenient carry and keep the knife poised for immediate access, it includes a reversible, low-profile wire clip that supports left or right-side tip-up carry.
