I have one of these, but have yet to try it on anything but the Caly family. Never on an FRN knife. I find that they don't have enough width for some work pants (Carhartt, Dickies, Kuhl, Mountain Khakis) I wish the mount stood taller with the same thickness over the pocket hem.
I agree with you on that... I've been trying to like this clip for awhile but it never stays on my knives very long bc it doesn't have the greatest retention and it is too slim like you said to fit over thicker materials like denim which is what I wear every day

I don't want to weaken it to the point of ruin, but I have been tempted to take a file to the inside of this one.

Have you tried the Casey Lynch wire replacement clips? I like them and the retention is great + plenty of room for thicker pocket hem material

I haven't, but I will look into them. I had a few that were titanium and were a great sturdy option but they have been buried in the safe somewhere out of sight for so long I wouldn't know where to start.

After 3 days of use at work, I gave it a couple licks on the browns last night and it's back to shaving sharp. This knife has always impressed me when I use it (besides being cautious of the obvious snag point). I love the way it cuts, most of my knives are ffg so it's nice to use something different for a change.

I've been spoiled by my CRK Sebenza. I'm carrying my CPM REX 45 Military this morning and it almost doesn't feel like a serious tool anymore!

Honestly, I still like this Military a lot, especially the steel. But I'm missing the level of build quality and construction of a CRK.
Unfair comparison, I know.

Been in my pocket for the past month since it came in.
Letting a patina develop, haven't had to resharpen or touch up.
Not very surprising considering the steel's reputation, and I am very satisfied by the overall feeling of the knife.

I also have a small keychain olight that uses an aaa battery and twists on or off. Is that the same one you have?
