Re: Macro & Close-Up Photos!
Thanks! Been pretty busy lately and haven't got to spend as much time behind the camera as I would like so I went out and made up for it today lol.

Re: Macro & Close-Up Photos!
Perhaps these are silly images to post, but you did ask for examples of macro and close-up photography.
In these two images, I used a Nikon 105mm, 1:2.8G ED, AF-S Micro Nikkor VR on a Nikon D3 (a full-frame DSLR). I shot both images handheld and with a flash. The VR (Vibration Reduction) feature of the lens made handheld photography possible.
I had ordered a 1/72 scale model of the M1A2 Abrams tank, and when I received it, one bottom corner of the clear plastic cover was damaged with a piece of plastic chipped out of it. I contacted the seller about the damage... the seller requested pictures of the damage...
- Display Case Damage01: This image was taken with the 105mm so as to show both the display case and damaged bottom corner. You can see the chipped piece of plastic to the left of the case...
- Display Case Damage02: This image is a close-up of that damaged bottom corner with the chipped piece of plastic placed next to it. This was as close of a close-up as I could get...
I originally bought this particular Nikon 105mm lens more for bringing distant subjects in closer without having to get too close (such as right in someone's face). I later learned that a 105mm lens could be used as a portrait lens, so I thought that was cool. But, when I finally figured out I could use this lens for macro photography, I found that VERY cool. These two images are my first attempt at macro photography.
