Halloween Contest Rules
Spyderco Pumpkin Carving Contest — Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
1. Sponsor
This contest ("Contest") is sponsored by Spyderco, Inc. ("Sponsor"). The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any social media platform on which it is promoted.
2. Eligibility
The Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Spyderco, Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising/promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, children) or household members, are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law.
3. Contest Period
Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM MT on October 30, 2026 ("Entry Deadline"). Entries received after the Entry Deadline will not be eligible.
4. How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
Carve a pumpkin (original design; see Section 5 for restrictions).
Photograph the carved pumpkin.
Submit the photo to the Spyderco Pumpkin Carving Contest
Limit one (1) entry per person. Entries that are incomplete, unreadable, or that do not meet the entry requirements may be disqualified at Sponsor's sole discretion.
5. Entry Restrictions
Entries must depict an actual, physically carved pumpkin photographed by the entrant.
No use of artificial intelligence (AI) is permitted at any stage of the entry, including but not limited to AI-generated or AI-assisted images, AI-generated design concepts, or AI-edited/enhanced photographs. Entries found to have used AI in any form will be disqualified.
Entries must not contain content that is obscene, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise in violation of any third party's rights or applicable law.
By submitting an entry, the participant confirms it is their own original work, and they own all rights necessary to submit it.
6. Winner Selection
One (1) winner will be selected on October 31, 2026, at Sponsor's sole discretion (based on creativity, craftsmanship, and adherence to rules). The winner will be announced and posted on Spyderco's social media on October 31, 2026.
7. Prize
One (1) winner will receive: one (1) Spyderco Sage 6 REX 121 Folding Knife, featuring a custom engraving. Approximate retail value: $570. Prize is non-transferable, and no cash or other substitution will be allowed, except at Sponsor's discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
8. Winner Notification
The winner will be notified via email on October 31st, 2026. The winner is required to respond within 5 days and/or provide proof of eligibility (including age and U.S. residency) to claim the prize. Failure to respond or provide required verification within the specified time may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
9. General Conditions
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, violates these Official Rules, or engages in any conduct deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike, unfair, or otherwise not in the spirit of the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Contest.
10. Publicity Release
By entering, participants grant Sponsor the right, unless prohibited by law, to use their name, likeness, photo/entry, and comments for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without additional compensation.
11. Release and Limitation of Liability
By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance/use of the prize.
12. Disputes
Participants agree that this Contest is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Colorado.
3. Privacy
Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor's Privacy Policy.
