Based on a knife designed by acclaimed custom knifemaker Kevin Smock, the Smock is a utilitarian folding knife that incorporates a clever variation of Spyderco's patented Compression Lock® mechanism. Unlike most versions of this lock, which are released by applying lateral pressure directly to the knife's stainless steel liner, the Smock has a button built into the obverse (front) side scale. Pushing the button releases the lock and makes one-handed operation of the knife even simpler and easier.

This Exclusive version of the Smock proudly includes all the defining features of this design, but elevates them with an elite blade steel and green canvas Micarta handle scales. The hollow-ground, satin-finished blade is precision machined from CPM 20CV particle metallurgy stainless steel.

CPM 20CV is an advanced powder metallurgy steel that contains a high volume of vanadium carbide and the highest amount of chromium of any vanadium-rich stainless steel currently available. This potent recipe of elements gives it a remarkable combination of high wear resistance, superior corrosion resistance, and good impact toughness.

The other defining characteristic of this knife is its handle, which features green canvas Micarta scales that accentuate the knife's sleek design and ensure a secure, non-slip grip that changes over time. A polished stainless steel clip stands in contrast to the scales, keeping the knife poised for instant access with a choice of left or right-side tip-up carry.
