Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser designed the original Military™ Model to be the perfect cutting tool for forward-deployed military personnel. First introduced in 1996, it has since earned a reputation as one of the most iconic folding knife designs ever produced. The current Military Model is available in several different configurations, all featuring full-flat-ground blades crafted from CPM® S30V® stainless steel. The PlainEdge™ blades of these models proudly feature a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed deployment and are available with either a satin finish or a non-reflective Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. Their handles are constructed with either black or digital camouflage G-10 scales. The peel-ply-textured scales house nested stainless steel liners that form the foundation of a sturdy LinerLock mechanism and anchor a right-side, tip-down pocket clip. The easy to clean, open-backed handle design keeps the knives exceptionally lightweight and also features a generously sized lined lanyard hole for the easy attachment of lanyards and security lines. For left-handed users, the basic satin-finished, black-handled version of the Military is also available in a mirror-image, left-handed configuration with a pocket clip that provides left-side, tip-down carry.
