First introduced in 1997, the Navigator was a compact, travel-friendly CLIPIT® folding knife. A descendant of the pioneering Co-Pilot™ model of Spyderco’s earliest years, it later inspired the limited-production Navigator II in 2005. The third-generation Navigator 3 proudly resurrects and updates this timeless design and, for the first time, renders it in a socially and legally friendly non-locking SLIPIT™ format. Proudly manufactured in Maniago, Italy, it features a full-flat-ground blade crafted from BM390MC—Böhler-Uddeholm’s genuine M390 particle metallurgy stainless steel. The blade features a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for convenient, ambidextrous, one-handed opening and a refined spine profile for enhanced comfort. It is supported by a notched-joint non-locking mechanism built with a full stainless steel backspring. The backspring is flanked by smooth gray G-10 handle scales that are relieved to accept a reversible deep-pocket wire clip, providing a choice of discreet left- or right-side tip-up carry. A proud addition to Spyderco’s SLIPIT family, the Navigator 3 is also emblematic of a rich evolutionary history.
