The first defining feature of this knife is its blade, features CPM MagnaCut, a remarkable powder metallurgy steel conceived by Larrin Thomas, a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. CPM MagnaCut challenges traditional stainless steel chemistry by reducing the amount of chromium in the steel to a precise range while adding vanadium and niobium. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, toughness, and corrosion resistance. These properties are further enhanced by Crucible's powder metallurgy process, which ensures a very fine grain size and uniform distribution of the alloys throughout the steel. To make the blade of this elite knife even more unique, it features a rich, black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating.

Not to be outdone, the handle of this Para 3 features unique natural G-10 scales with an exclusive Diamond Mesh texture for a secure, non-slip grip. Skeletonized stainless steel liners nested within those scales provide the framework of the knife's patented Compression Lock® mechanism, which offers extreme strength and safe, convenient, one-handed operation.
