This product is being sold as a Factory Second. If a knife or other product doesn’t meet our stringent quality-control standards, it is declared a Factory Second and removed from our first-quality inventory.

Typically, products are declared seconds because they have some kind of minor cosmetic flaw or because they do not satisfy a non-critical quality-control standard. While these flaws may affect the product’s appearance, they do not compromise its proper mechanical operation. Regardless of the specific reason a knife is declared a second, it remains safe for normal use. To clearly differentiate our Factory Seconds from our first-quality products, knives are all marked with a small notch on the spine of the blade near the handle.

Due to the nature of Factory Seconds, we are not able to accommodate special requests. All products are drawn randomly from inventory pre-selected for the sale. No hand-picking will be done.

Although Factory Seconds are fully functional and ideal for utilitarian use, they are not covered under Spyderco’s standard warranty policy and may not be returned to Spyderco for service. They are sold “as is” at substantial discounts, and all sales are final.

Designed by renowned personal-defense authority Michael Janich, the Yojimbo™ 2 was instrumental in popularizing the concept of the “tactical Wharncliffe.” This elite expression of it supercharges the design with Spyderco’s proprietary CPM® SPY27® blade steel. Available only on select Spyderco knives, this elite steel boasts an advanced alloy formula that includes vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, and nitrogen. These alloys are enhanced by the amplifying effects of the steel’s signature element—cobalt—and the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process to create a blade steel that offers an impressive synergy of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. These qualities provide outstanding support to the ultra-keen edge geometry of the Yojimbo 2’s hollow-ground Wharncliffe blade, which is housed in a handle featuring skeletonized stainless steel liners nested within peel-ply-textured G-10 scales. The liners form the backbone of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism and anchor its four-position pocket clip, which is fully configurable for left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. Like most other members of Spyderco’s elite CPM SPY27 family of knives, the handle scales of this Yojimbo 2 proudly feature a signature cobalt blue color.
